Witness Appeal following Man fell onto Exchange Road Watford

There was a heavy emergency in Watford town centre this morning of the day Lockdown measures were relaxed and pub gardens and Hair Salons reopened.

Police cordoned off Exchange Road and this quickly became gridlocked,  traffic was diverted into Upton Road.  Sullivan Buses had to re-route its 306 bus service.

Update 15th:

The IOPC says it was notified by Hertfordshire Constabulary that a man fell from an ambulance while being accompanied by a police officer.

A spokesperson from the IOPC said: “We can confirm we have begun an independent investigation into the actions of the police concerning an incident in Watford, Hertfordshire, in which a 46-year-old man was injured and is currently critically ill in hospital.


A spokesperson from Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “We’re currently dealing with a road traffic incident on the ring road.

“Several closures have been put in place, and is causing a lot of congestion. People are asked to please avoid the area for the time being.”

East of England Ambulance Service has confirmed a Helicopter was sent and landed in Cassiobury Park where a patient had been seen too.
